My name is Jack
I’ve been vegan for over 9 years. Through this time, I’ve made my most drastic physical and fitness-based changes.
At the end of 2019, I found myself in a difficult situation regarding my health. I was overweight, tipping the scales at over 17st (108kg/238lbs). I felt sluggish, uncomfortable, and unmotivated in my daily life. It was a challenging realization, but one that sparked a desire for change within me. For Christmas that year, my wife gifted me something that would completely alter my trajectory: Personal Training sessions at our local gym.
Over the next 18 months, we navigated through the challenges posed by COVID-19 and various restrictions that made traditional gym workouts difficult. We focused on creating a balanced routine that combined resistance training, cardiovascular workouts, and flexibility exercises, all while maintaining strict adherence to a vegan lifestyle.
As a result of our dedication, I was able to lose 4st (26kg/57lbs), transforming my body and mind. I emerged from this journey not just lighter, but healthier and full of energy. I was in the best shape of my life, thriving both physically and mentally.
It’s crucial to note that throughout this process, I never compromised my commitment to veganism. I made conscious choices about my diet, ensuring I received the necessary nutrients to fuel my workouts and recovery. I discovered a vast array of plant-based foods that supported my fitness goals, proving that a vegan lifestyle can coexist with a rigorous fitness regimen.
Anyone who tells you it isn’t possible to thrive physically on a vegan diet is mistaken. This journey has not only transformed my body but has also deepened my understanding of nutrition and exercise. I’m living proof that with the right mindset, support, and dedication, anyone can achieve their fitness goals, regardless of their dietary preferences.
